We qualify for “Saga” membership as we are over 50!
We fell in love with skiing back in 1991 which was our first ski trip to Cervinia in Italy. We have never looked back since.
One Dream that we had from that day on was that one day we would own a house in the mountains in The French Alps. That Dream became the focus of our working life and in 2000 we purchased a barn in a little known village called Planchamp in the ski resort of La Plagne (near Montalbert). This was to be the stepping stone to our final dream to own our own property.
In 2005 we went to the Living France show in Olympia and saw the details (very sketchy) of a property that met our criteria and it was located in Les Arcs. Believe it or not the only picture we saw was a small window and a portion of the roof! Estate Agents in France don’t give much away because it is a fiercely competitive business and commissions (paid by the purchaser) are very high.

In March 2005 we arranged to meet Natalie from Century 21 to view the property located in the farming hamlet of Moulin in Peisey Nancroix Les Arcs. It was one of those dejavu moments as we walked down the high street (only just wide enough for a car) and saw “Le Passeu” as the property was known.
There it was a beautiful old house and barn with a private courtyard – desparately in need of some tender loving care and restoration but way way above any price we could afford.
But “where there is a will there is a way” and after negotiations with the owners we signed the first documents which would lead to our dream becoming reality.
