History of Chalet “Le Passeu”

Le Passeu was owned by Madame Luccioni and had been in her family for 5 generations.  It is featured in the Book “Peisey Nancroix Autrefois” by Alain Richermoz which traces the history of the villages that make up Peisey Nancoix.  This is the photograph that appears in the book.

We felt very priviledged to be taking over this ancient house from her and our promise was that we would preserve it for generations to come and that we would do everything we could to ensure it remained in character in the village.  Some task!

In July 2005 we met with the owners and were introduced to “les voisins” – the neighbours.  These were to become firm friends over the coming months and years.  There was Edourd who spoke English and had lived with his family in the village forever.  Our immediate neighbours were Simone and Ulysse who have been the kindest people you could hope to meet.

Here are a few photographs of Le Passeu as we saw it in March 2005 just as the snow was beginning to melt on a sunning spring day
